Samovar Tea Lounge

I walk by this place all the time and think it looks interesting. Yesterday, we found the Yerba Buena location, so we went. I have to say, this is a uniquely San Francisco very cool thing– teas from around the world with healthy snacks– everything from high tea service to a moorish tea service (which was delish– haloumi cheese and veggie skewers with a mint salad, dolmas and dates stuffed with goat cheese and walnuts– YUM) and everything in between.

Also, they have loungey seating. I even said– this is a great place to bring people from out of town. Highly recommend.

I went to the post office yesterday to mail a couple of packages. It was kind of a controlled disaster (albeit a most friendly one) in that the “machines were down”, leaving only the electronic kiosk open. All the same to me, I bypass the line and use the kiosk every time I go anyway.

Not surprisingly there was a longer than usual line at the kiosk and there were a bunch of post office employees around to help, including a really cute old Filipino lady who kept telling everyone waiting in line, “debit or credit only!” (She seemed perplexed that no one left the line based on this revelation.)

When the gentleman in front of me finished, there were no staff to direct him where to leave his package (the envelope slots being too small). And then, without missing a beat, he says “I didn’t bring lubrication.”

I nearly died.
