When Chava and Mordecai Hochberg’s kids (Shulamith, Hanna, Itzik and Eli) were sick, Chava, our mother, used to say in Hebrew “lee sh’yiheyeh.” I remember hearing it for the first time as one word “leeshyiheyeh” and not understanding what it meant. Little by little as time went by, the profound meaning of this phrase unfolded. Lee sh’yiheyeh means simply “I wish it would have been me.” “I wish I would have been sick instead of you, “our mother said every time we were ill.

When you have children and they are sick, you begin to understand the profound meaning of Lee Sh’yhiyeh.

So Sara, all the way from New York, I am saying to you, Lee Sh’yiheyeh.

We in the east need to apply this test of “throw after ten years.”

However, we lament with you having to bid farewell to this particular collector’s T-Shirt. We recall washing it (coming all the way to Boston to do laundry), folding it and developing uncalled for attachment to it.

I join the guilty. I was actually thinking about it, mentioning it to others, not as a milestone, but as a fact and as a sprigboard to expalin how advance he is.

Conclusion: Ari is a grown-up now.

I would like to state for the record, that by “forgot”, Roy means it took us until 8am (day of) to remember. We didn’t really forget, we just failed to anticipate.
