For those of you interested in this level of minutiae, check out the new Ari’s Words section (next to about us at the top right nav).

If we spoke last year after our pumpkin patch (mis)adventures, you may have heard me ranting about how cheesey most of them are. Still true, though I’m beginning to see the value in jumping gyms, giant gorillas and the like. This year we found one we really like, off of Highway 1, just south of Half Moon Bay. The pumpkins are still in the field, a hay pyramid is the central “fun” attraction, in addition to a few animals. Ari was surprisingly daring with the sheep, grabbing an ear at one point. These pictures make the day look a little grumbly, I think, but it was actually quite lovely. And we have a mommy pumpkin, a daddy pumpkin and an Arinaut-size pumpkin to prove it!
San Francisco would be better if there were more former New Yorkers here.
Pros:
Better weather
Work less/more flexibly/smarter
Healthier from a variety of perspectives– better cleaner food and time to and a culture oriented around being active
Innovative– here you feel like you’re a part of creating the future
Spend less time getting around
More space for your money– if you can afford an apartment in Manhattan you can afford a yard here without going to the burbs
Economy not totally in the shitter
We live here
Cons:
Not New York in that you’re not in love with the city itself
Less diverse
Many people here are boring (hence the draft)
